This is what we all do. We believe things to such a degree that they become part of the structure of our consciousness. Some pick only logic and materialism, a lot, actually. I have pity for those people. There is no room in their lives for the unexpected, magical or transcendental. They must feel constantly disconnected.
It’s easy to write off astrology as delusion. In fact, that’s probably accurate in some instances. However, it is no less delusional than someone who believes that life is only made up of what we can prove scientifically and it doesn’t come with that arrogance.
I believe that there is no right or wrong way to think, we get to choose how we think and it will, to some extent, define the world around us. Right now the majority of people in the west, the dominant power on this planet are materialists. The result of this set of beliefs is technology at the price of destruction on a mass scale. I could give a rat’s ass whether mysticism is ‘true’ or not. The fact is that people who believe in it and follow it treat each other and the world around them with respect and care and they create meaning in their lives. That’s value.

Relativism is destroying reality. As Theodore Sturgeon put it “We say ‘On the other hand…’, we say ‘However…’”. It’s easy not to believe anything when we know so much. Sifting through beliefs, trying to decide which are right and which are wrong, which ones we should believe in, is an impossible task. We think “There are no right beliefs”. What we’re left with is a meaningless world in which we suffocate on information, most of it poison. People don’t mean what they say anymore. Look at the news. Politicians use words like ‘liberate’ to decribe invasions. We now have to “endure freedom”. No one says “Hey! Wait a minute, that doesn’t make any sense.” We just absorb it and generate some kind of explanation of how one could view the the situation that way.
B..U..L..L..S..H..I..T
That spells bullshit. “Ok”, you say, “What can I do about it?” I will tell you. Believe. Believe something, anything as long as it comes from you. Humans have remarkable facilities for synthesizing information. Take what you know and perform some alchemy with it. Don’t just be a passive information transferring agent. Start swimming in the sea of information. Start re-arranging, being active. Or limit yourself to taking in only what information you are capable of processing without surrendering your powers of observation and intuition. Don’t let yourself be overloaded and give up. Think, damnit.
Oh gee, what a surprise. Presidential elections have been rigged at least as long as we’ve been using machines to count the votes. Full Story. You can download the vote-counting program and manual as well.
Here’s some more info on COINTELPRO. That’s the Counter Intelligence Program for those of you who are acronym challenged. cointel.org, which had many more FBI COINTELPRO documents that were released in after the Freedom of Information Act, has been shut down. After trying to access their sites, it looks like they made a valiant effort to escape.
I have a vision. COINTELPRO or whatever they are calling themselves these days depend on a certain set of cirumstances in order to successfully silence dissenters. That is, there must be a target organization. I suggest that those who value freedom avoid creating organizations. It is perfectly possible to be a powerful force of political dissent without joining up with some group. No one will be able to infiltrate your organization if it consists only of you. This takes a bit mmore courage but it doesn’t mean you will be alone, just self-governed. You need to figure out how to get your community to wake up and smell the fucking napalm.
Idea for the Day:
Print up a bunch of flyers with the logo for your local police department on them. Make it look like an official ‘edict’. Declare a curfew for citizens or post a date for new ‘monthly home searches’ for suspicious activity. Paste them everywhere. Dress up nice and go door to door handing out the pamphlets and ‘educating’ people about the recent changes in your local community. If you have a show on college radio, do the same thing with an audio broadcast. Do your very best to make the whole thing look/sound official. The idea is to just barely cross the line so that people will believe it’s happening and become upset. Once the smoke clears, there won’t be any organization or sub-culture for the police to blame. Even if their name is cleared, the resentment hasn’t been transferred anywhere. This can be done on a smaller scale as well. Start spreading similar rumors everywhere you go. Tell the counter guy at the cafe, the gas-station attendant, your parents. Spread discontent, not too cause trouble but because it should be there, every reason exists to be upset with our government.
Well…
The Millenium Group (www.tmgnow.com) has been shutdown. I find this possibly scary. For those of you that know what the hell I’m talking about you can see that it actually lends them more credibility. If you see jesus in the sky and hear his voice in your head it’s not real. These won’t help you either. Go read up on scalar em waves. Call me a loon, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
In a related note, commie-hippie-nazi-jew-homos are still going on about Tesla’s free energy. You can find a full patent application here, as well as various health related uses of such technology. There was a Theodore Sturgeon story about a guy who cured cancer with this technology and invented very fuel efficient engines and whatnot and no one would listen to him. Sad, sad, sad, true true true. I have a friend that modifies cars to get better gas mileage. Basically, car companies purposely restrict mileage so that people will buy more gas. They own bunches of patents for fuel efficient engines and non-fossil fuel engines that they just sit on until it makes economic sense to switch. The whole sad, sad, true, true thing is really just too sad and true.
In other news, PerfNet, aka, the Tech Center burned to the cold, cold ground. Firteen.com reports. I used to live there. I had a nice space: foam walls, a real heater (the only one in the wharehouse), thin carpet thrown over the concrete-slab, a door. It was the last haven for anything interesting in that town. The town finally got what it wanted and no one is even investigating arson. Cya a2, wouldn’t wanna be ya.
I’ve been looking at the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace website today and various articles relating to it. It seems that Richard Clarke is not really sure what the term hacker means. I guess they’ve only heard it referred to in movies. Let me define this concept for them with a little illustration.
Our “cyberspace infrastructure” as the PCIPB would have us call the internet was made largely by and for hackers. Are you listening Georgie? It’s story time, sweetbuns. Hacker is a term of respect. It is a word that reflects an individuals superior understanding of computer technology and an almost magical intuition or ability to think outside the box and come up with innovative ways of using existing technologies. Hackers are responsible such major advances in computer technology as UNIX, C and even the whole mouse, window, file paradigm that most of us are confined to.
Now I wouldn’t expect little Bushie to know how to use a computer but maybe he can ask one of his friends at the Department of Defense about a project called ARPANET. If he can manage to grasp the concept of a network, then our cute little president will find that ARPANET was the original network that spawned the internet. But it didn’t just evolve by itself. ARPANET allowed universities and research organizations from all over to share information. All the hackers in the computer science departments could now talk to each other and through their ingenuous usage of that network they formed a community, something that we might recognize today as the internet.
One of the articles I read today was about the retirement of Richard Clarke who is currently the head of PCIPB. He’s gettin’ out of the public eye and into the ‘private sector’ which is really a code name for the corporations that actually run the government. Who is going to take his place? None other than Howard Schmidt, former Chief of Security for Microsoft. The inbreeding continues but we can all rest easy and know that our ‘cyberspace infrastructure’ aka, the internet is safe because we all know how secure Microsoft products are.
